A major international oil transportation company, operating for over 28 years, needed to replace its legacy SharePoint-based system modules while preserving existing workflows and enabling future growth. The challenge was not only to migrate core business processes, but also to extend and customize functionality in a way that off-the-shelf solutions couldn’t support.
пTo meet these goals, the company launched a public tender to select a flexible, low-code platform capable of handling its complex operational requirements. After evaluating five vendors, RunRule Solutions and the 2RS Platform were selected based on technical capabilities, speed of delivery, and cost-efficiency.
The project included the implementation of 4 modules. The migration took 1 year. It began with two core business modules:
1) Business Trip Management
Employees frequently travel across regions and countries. The new module allows users to create, edit, and manage trip requests dynamically — supporting changes, extensions, and cancellations with improved usability.
2) Transportation Request Management
This system handles full transportation logistics: vehicle requests, inter-branch coordination, taxi and airport pickups. The rebuilt module offers a modern UX and integrates with existing services.
3) A Task Management System was added to unify workflows across modules, ensuring timely execution and accountability.
4) The Service Desk was redesigned to handle internal IT and operations requests efficiently, supporting the company’s large-scale infrastructure.
All modules were integrated with key corporate systems, including 1C, Navision, the existing EDMS, and remaining SharePoint components.
The RunRule team (5 experts) led implementation and customization. On the client side, a compact project group and business users participated actively.
Additionally, 14 internal specialists (including 7 SharePoint developers) were trained to take over support and further development of the platform.
Strong foundation for future modules: tender management, EDMS, and further Service Desk enhancements.
